"... For a modern course with a truly pragmatic outcome, I can say with most confidence that the quality of the course (although we were only being assessed) and the pedagogy which underpins their teaching is exceedingly high. I cannot comment on the NVQ-backed year apprenticeship, but the in-house courses are well worth the money, especially if you feel your skills could do with some confidence-boosting..."

"During the course you were talked through every aspect of the training, showing you as a group each part of the bike, how to safely remove the part using the correct tools and how to service it.

Each and every question anyone had was thrown open to teach everything to everyone, it was not just answered to the person asking. This was great as if you were not too sure yourself you found out how to solve the fault.

As for the trainers well what can I say, they are brilliant at showing you how to do something and the way they explain the process of how to is pure class, they make it light hearted but never miss a point, it makes taking it all in very easy and if you’re not too sure they will come to your station and go through it again. Great guys, with a great attitude to what they are doing.

I could go on and on but to say that the Cytech course is just to teach you cycle mechanics is far from correct, it teaches you a new skill taught by professionals so you can go and start a business like I did, I now run Injured Cycle Repairs in Strathclyde.

I would tell anyone who is thinking of doing this, go Cytech and learn from the best!"

"If bikes are your passion and you are looking for more then I would recommend that you look at pjcsonline.co.uk for your Cytech training. Pete and Sam have many, many years of experience between them and are only too willing to share their knowledge with you during the course. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable 2 and a half weeks of hands on training for me."

"Cytech qualifications are a must for the bike business. Customers know that if a bike comes to our store for servicing they will get the same treatment as when they walk into the service reception of a motor dealer. Sometimes it can be better."

"All our technical, sales, marketing and even warehouse staff are Cytech trained. We believe for many of them it is an essential part of the work they do and enables them to converse confidently with our customers. I always recommend retailers invest in Cytech for the same reasons whilst also adding credibility to their business from the customer perspective."

"Despite having over 25 years of experience in the bike trade, both on the shop floor and in the workshop, the Cytech technical two course provided our shop manager with a comprehensive underpinning of knowledge to his existing experience. Whilst further installing confidence in how our workshop could and should operate.

Throughout all of the various interactions we have had with Cytech and ATG Training, from administrative processes to training and assessments, they have proved themselves to be a company and a team of people we can and do trust. I would further go to say that they have had a significant influence in the success of Bay Cycles. Consequently, I would have no hesitation in recommending ATG Training and their delivery of Cytech training and apprenticeships to others."

"Why use a qualified mechanic?"

"... I did my Cytech level 1 and 2 over the following year. This was very well taught and accredited. I had regular assessments at my workplace and 2 weeks at the Cytech training centre. I learnt so much in that year and picked up a lot of little tips and tricks which I still use today. I am still in contact with Jules my original assessor from 15 years ago and meeting him made me realise that I could be a great mechanic..."

"On doing my research I very quickly realised that the Cytech training was the industry recognized standard for cycle maintenance training, so as part of my business plan I booked onto the course. I found the training to be of an excellent standard and the instructors were highly experienced having worked in the industry for years, the training environment was superb with access to all the tools and space required to run a bicycle workshop, the assessment was thorough with great support provided by the instructors.

The Cytech training gave me the right tools to open my bicycle shop which I have now been running successfully. The cycle industry requires this level of training and I would highly recommend this training to people looking to set up a cycle shop or to become qualified cycle technicians."

Cytech Feedback Reviews
"I want to thank you guys for giving me a professional foundation in cycle mechanics, and especially the Cytech instructors who gave me really good advice on seeking out other training after the Technical three course. Following completion of Cytech training I went on to open a mountain bike suspension service center in the US called Trail Labs – we’re the only suspension service center in the Midwest (an area 8 times bigger than the UK), and one of a few in the entire US that are recognized to service most of the mountain bike brands currently on the market. Had I not participated in the Cytech program, this would all still be a dream!"

"... Even just from the online course, I quickly learnt how little I really knew about my bike, and I began to worry. Greases, oils, lubes, hazardous chemicals, and even correctly changing an inner tube and checking tyres, it was all new to me. With my notebook and pen, I jotted down everything I didn’t know… which was about 90% of the material..."

"Bike Mechanics: An Unprecedented Qualification in Confidence"

"... There's something highly rewarding about being considered a bike mechanic. Perhaps it's because it's a skill that I couldn't read and study my way out of, or perhaps it's because there was always a quiet self-doubting whisper that had finally been silenced. Either way, I was so stoked to go home that day and strip a friend's old fixie bike for a service and rebuild..."

“Going back to work [after Cytech training] was great as I had a better understanding of how to spot faults in bikes and how to fix them. Since I qualified, I have noticed that when a senior mechanic checks my work, there are much fewer things that I’ve missed which in itself makes me feel a lot more confident – although, over the past few months there have been very few times when I’ve missed something!”..."

"After being involved with bikes for the last 50 years and now running my own bike hire business, I thought the time was right to get some official status as a bike mechanic.

The course exceeded my expectations and I was awash with new correct information in regard to bike building and maintenance. With the range of bikes I have titanium, steel, aluminium and carbon frames, with an equally large array of seat posts, forks and headsets, correct maintenance is essential. I returned home to the Lake District and immediately ordered a range of different lubricants for the different frame materials, and some additional bike tools including a wheel truing device. Yes I can now true my fleet’s own wheels!

This course is an absolute must for everyone who wants to maintain bikes correctly."

Mike delivers the course content in a friendly & professional manner, he creates an excellent learning environment & his knowledge is excellent - he encourages students to focus on a fault finding process, which further develops the students learning skills.
