The ACT shortlisted in the BikeBiz Awards 2019!

The BikeBiz Awards is a key event within the cycling industry that honours the innovation and hard work that goes into the UK cycling industry by brands, retailers and individuals. The award categories within the scheme vary from honouring local independent retailers to brand giants. Most importantly, the BikeBiz awards bestows trust and gives power to consumers, professionals and enthusiasts who are able to vote for their favourite brands, retailers and individuals in each category.

Why the ACT have been nominated


The Cycle Advocacy category includes any companies that advocate cycling throughout the UK to benefit the cycle industry members. The ACT is the largest cycle trade organisation in the UK and has been promoting cycling for over a hundred years. Here are just a few of the many ways in which the ACT has positively impacted the cycling industry over the last century:

  • The ACT has developed and owns Cytech, the bicycle industry's internationally recognised training and accreditation scheme for bicycle technicians.
  • The ACT helps to support retailers with the Ride it away retail finance scheme, which is the UK cycle sector's fastest growing sales tool.
  • The ACT helps retailers to fill their vacancies quickly with the jobs board.
  • The ACT also runs a consumer facing site- The Cycling Experts - which features the most comprehensive UK IBD directory.
  • The ACT regularly posts news stories and has up to date Facebook and Twitter pages to keep the cycling trade notified and aware of all the latest happenings and anything of interest.
