Cytech share technical tips at the Cycle Show 2019

Posted on 19 Aug 2019

The Cycle Show is one of the country's biggest cycling events and is now celebrating its 18th year in 2019, with Cytech attending once again along with more than 300 other exhibitors and over 500 brands presenting their newest bikes, kit, clothing and accessories at this annual 3-day showcase in September.

Cytech is the internationally recognised training and accreditation scheme for bicycle technicians delivering training and promotion of technical skills to the cycle trade and enthusiasts worldwide. Cytech technical are a set of courses which encompass the basics of cycle mechanics right through to dealing with the most advanced and high-tech components and parts.

At the show on the Cycle Advice Stage Cytech will be demonstrating key practices in bike maintenance that will be useful for both the trade and public.

Their two seminars will be held on each of the consumer facing days of the show which includes Friday 13th, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th of September 2019.

10.10-10.40 - Rear Gear Adjustment

It can be immensely annoying if the gears on your bike don't work as they should. In this session we'll take a deep dive into the rear gears of your bike covering how to set up and adjust the rear derailleur, check for damage and misalignment, know the different types of rear derailleur and how they relate to different cassette sizes as well as replacing a cable to keep the shifting slick.

15.30-16.00 - Front Gear Adjustment

The front derailleur can be a source of mystery for many. In this session we will show you why alignment matters, what cable tension and routing you require, the different styles of front derailleur and how to set up, care and troubleshoot them.
