Posted on 20 Jan 2015

Cytech theory one offers all staff - not just bicycle technicians - a chance to learn more about the cycle trade, gain confidence and feel valued in their job role and achieve an industry recognised qualification. Get your staff qualified today.

Cytech is the internationally recognised training and accreditation scheme for bicycle technicians, delivering training and promotion of technical skills to the cycle trade and enthusiasts worldwide.

With the continued development of cycling and its increasing popularity, Cytech is leading the way in providing cyclists and members of the trade of all levels and interests with the skills they need - whether a professional mechanic, cycle enthusiast or just part of the cycle trade.

Regardless of the role a member of staff plays within the business, gaining a Cytech qualification demonstrates commitment to the trade and a desire to learn and develop skills.

Cytech theory one is a distance learning course which focuses on the theory elements of bicycle maintenance as well as workshop practices, health and safety and consumer rights. For a bicycle technician Cytech theory one offers an introduction to bicycle maintenance which can kick-start a career, whilst for non-technical members of staff it can offer an insight into the way the shop and workshop should be run.

Getting your staff qualified costs from just £60 per person. Not only does a qualification give staff the knowledge they need to answer customer queries about their bike, but it also helps give your shops the recognition is deserves with a higher ranking on the Cytech directory by gaining learning credits for each qualified employee.

The directory works as a constantly updated census of where Cytech qualified people are employed in each shop and gives your customers the added confidence that their local cycle shop is their best resource for all their cycling needs.

Case Study

Glasgow based Billy Bilsland Cycles recently boosted their Cytech directory entry by putting ten technical and retail staff through the Cytech theory one course. For just £60* per candidate, the shop now has qualified staff and has boosted their rank on the directory by over 100 places.

Once candidates have completed Cytech theory one they can easily upgrade to the full Cytech technical one qualification by completing a short practical course or assessment with one of our Cytech training providers.
