VOLT partners with Deliveroo in branded e-bike trial for delivery riders

Posted on 20 Oct 2022

London, October 20, 2022: VOLT today announces the launch of a collaboration with Deliveroo, the food delivery company, to trial subsidised e-bikes for a group of riders across the UK.

The first-of-its-kind nationwide trial will provide riders with VOLT’s steadfast Burlington model e-bike in bespoke Deliveroo branding at a subsidised rate. The trial will explore the suitability of various buying options for a select group of Deliveroo riders.

The trial provides a greener and more affordable alternative to motor vehicles, especially those used by riders in towns and cities. Riders also stand to benefit with the reduction in noise exposure and increased physical activity helping sustain a healthier lifestyle.

With many riders still using normal bicycles, switching to the Burlington e-bike will help increase efficiencies; allowing them to cover longer distances than on a traditional push bike, while providing a green alternative to motorised vehicles for riders who are looking to upgrade.

With built-in suspension, upright riding position and the ability to take riders up to 70 miles on a single charge, VOLT’s Burlington is the perfect machine for taking riders across cities in a comfortable and environmentally friendly way. Batteries are also removable and swapped out with ease for simple charging on or off the bike.

VOLT is a leading British e-bike brand with over a decade’s experience in the market; its award-winning e-bikes come with cutting-edge technology, and premium components and accessories as standard. The Burlington also features a rear pannier, inbuilt Abus lock, front and rear lights as well as mudguards as standard. All of which ensure that Deliveroo’s riders have the best equipped e-bike to tackle their deliveries safely at all times of the day, whatever the weather.

James Metcalfe, founder and Owner of VOLT commented:For VOLT to partner with Deliveroo in the UK to offer riders high quality e-bikes at an accessible price is incredibly exciting. We look forward to seeing what impact this initial trial period can bring and hope to continue our collaboration into the future and get more riders on alternative more environmentally friendly transport soon.

Paul Bedford, Director of Policy and Sustainability at Deliveroo, said:At Deliveroo, we are committed to supporting our marketplace and taking action to drive sustainability. By significantly reducing the cost of a new, high spec VOLT e-bike, we hope to accelerate the trend towards a greener fleet, reducing carbon emissions while helping riders to maximise their earnings - a win-win for all!
