Cytech launches new 'Technician status'

Posted on 24 May 2017

The Cytech Directory has got a brand new feature, promoting the individual achievements of technicians across the world.

The Cytech directory is a listing of all Cytech qualified personnel, including members of the public and employees of specialist retailers and suppliers.

The online directory works as a constantly updated census of who is Cytech qualified and where they are employed, giving businesses a platform to promote the skills of their employees and giving customers a way to find them.

The latest addition to the directory is the ‘Cytech technician status' which was introduced as a way to further reward and recognise the qualifications that technicians have invested in.

It aims to raise the profiles of Cytech technicians at an individual level, enabling them to take ownership of the qualifications they have achieved.

Being trained through the Cytech scheme and gaining the experience needed to become a Cytech master technician takes a lot of time, effort and dedication, and we want to further recognise the investment that mechanics put into themselves to enhance their career as well as the professionalism of the industry as a whole.

Each full Cytech course now brings with it a status and a ‘badge', displayed below.

A candidate who has achieved the full Cytech technical one qualification is 'Cytech certified'.

A candidate who has achieved a Cytech technical two qualification is a 'Cytech technician'.

A candidate who has achieved a Cytech technical three qualification is a 'Cytech senior technician'.

A candidate who has achieved a Cytech technical three qualification and/or assessment within the last three years, showing that they have demonstrated up-to-date knowledge and understanding with regular validated assessments, is a 'Cytech master technician'.

A candidate who has achieved a Cytech technical e-bike qualification is 'Cytech e-bike certified'.

All Cytech technical three qualified candidates will hold Master technician status for the next three years regardless of when they completed the course. To maintain Master technician status candidates will need to undertake an assessment only or refresher course in three years' time, otherwise they will revert to Senior technician status. More details on refresher training coming soon.

Check that your business is listed and make sure all your Cytech qualified colleagues are listed with all the right qualifications, click here to update any details.
