Job Description

At Alpine Bikes we’re more than just a specialist bike retailer.

We’re a community of riders, of climbers, down hillers, bike packers and adventurers. We know that one day’s riding can make your week and that any journey on two wheels is never wasted.

Our history and heritage is woven into the fabric of Scottish cycling but if you want to be part of our future then your ride starts here….

We are currently seeking applications for an experienced, enthusiastic and hands on Store Manager to take full responsibility for the day to day management of our new flaship concept Alpine Bikes store in Marchmont, Edinburgh. This is a great opportunity to be central to developing this brand new location.

Your primary responsibilities are to manage, develop and critically assess retail activities within the store whilst consistently promoting exceptional customer service standards. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that all possible avenues are explored to help drive the commercial success of the store in terms of sales and profitability.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will have full responsibility for ensuring all agreed promotional activities are planned, orchestrated and implemented within agreed time scales and thereafter objectively reviewed. A flexible and positive approach towards work is an essential part of this position, as is the ability to motivate and manage staff to ensure consistently high levels of customer engagement. A consummate communicator, you will be responsible for mentoring and supporting your staff helping to create a positive “can do” atmosphere within the store. It would be an advantage to have a Cytech qualification but this is not essential. More important is your passion for cycling and all things bike related.

This is a fantastic opportunity to undertake a management role within our business and if you feel that you have the drive, energy and experience to take on this position we would love to hear from you.

Closing Date: Friday 5th of November 2021

Salary: £Competitive, depending on experience + excellent benefits including generous staff discount
